Flak 88
This is the fairly new DML Flak 88 with a HobbyFan resin crew. I'm no expert on WW2 big guns, and I was scratching my head a bit with this, as the kit offers so many options. It appears that like German armour, a "mix and match" of older and newer components was quite normal, so I went for an earlier Flak 18 barrel, with newer sights and trailer components. Probably wrong, but I preferred the one-piece metal Flak 18 barrel in the kit.
The HobbyFan figures are superb. Some of the nicest resin figures I have ever painted, and they went together really well - only one or two needing a touch of filler at the arm seams.
I won't be in a hurry to build another big gun anytime soon, but I'm pleased with the result.
Fine work, as with your other pieces...I've been doing armor on and off for 40 years, and your stuff is fantastic!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Davey! Really glad you like them. My photography skills are pretty lousy though. Need to improve ....
