About Me

My photo
I'm a UK based modeller, specialising in German and Commonwealth armour. I have worked on a commission basis for enthusiasts all over the world, created masters for one of the big 1/32 resin "ready made" model companies, and have recently helped out on some projects for Archer Fine Transfers and other 1/35 armour accessory companies. I build for myself - when I have time! - concentrating on Stugs, Pz IV's and UK and Commonwealth WW2 stuff. I also post my work on www.track-link.com, www.missing-lynx.com and www.warwheels.net. Please leave comments or questions on the blog or on any of the websites I post on. If you would like to contact me, just click on "view my complete profile" below for my email address. All the best, and thanks for visiting! Dave

Flak 88

This is the fairly new DML Flak 88 with a HobbyFan resin crew. I'm no expert on WW2 big guns, and I was scratching my head a bit with this, as the kit offers so many options. It appears that like German armour, a "mix and match" of older and newer components was quite normal, so I went for an earlier Flak 18 barrel, with newer sights and trailer components. Probably wrong, but I preferred the one-piece metal Flak 18 barrel in the kit.

The HobbyFan figures are superb. Some of the nicest resin figures I have ever painted, and they went together really well - only one or two needing a touch of filler at the arm seams.

I won't be in a hurry to build another big gun anytime soon, but I'm pleased with the result.

Steyr 1500A - Ardennes

This is the second of my Tamiya Steyr 1500A's, this time using some Mantis Miniatures schwimmwagen crew as figures. They fitted extremely well, without modification. The resin stowage and wheels are by Black Dog, and like the figures, are top notch!
